Google Teams up with Intel and TAG Heuer to Develop Luxury Smart Watch

The Internet search giant Google Inc. will be working with Intel Corp and TAG Heuer S.A. to develop a Swiss smartwatch. Smartwatch is no longer geeky tech gadget since Apple introduced a super luxury watch that carries a price tag of $114,995.

Well, that was actually one announced by Brikk's Lux for its Brikk's Lux Watch Omni wearing 11.30 carat diamond.  But even the one developed by Apple can cost up to $17,000.

That was a huge jump from all flagship smartwatches in the market today which do not exist $500. The new watch to be developed by the trio will be driven by Intel and Android Wear technology at its core.

“Swiss watchmaking and Silicon Valley is a marriage of technological innovation with watchmaking credibility,” said TAG Heuer Chief Executive Jean-Claude Biver.

"Swiss watchmaking and Silicon Valley is a marriage of technological innovation with watchmaking credibility," said Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer, in a statement.

It seem a new era in luxury fashion watch has begun in year 2015.  None of the specifics has been released about this new mysterious watch but David Singleton, Google's director of engineering announced that the watch will be launched in 2015.

David has also hinted that this won't be the only partnership to create new generation of luxury wearable tech/fashion products.  I'm hoping Google can come up with some great watches that do not cost a fortune.
