Is LG G Urbane Smart Watch Ready for Prime Time?

I have been keep up on news relating to smartwatch development, especially the ones running Android OS.  Even though I'm not a trend leader when it comes to gadgets and wearable tech, having a high tech watch that can communicate with my smartphone is pretty tempting.

The primary reason that was holding me back from purchasing one of those Android watches that have hit the market so far is they all lacked a few important ingredients in functionality, practicality and design elements.

The Korean tech giant LG has just revealed what it's been cooking - a luxury version of its LG G Watch named "LG Watch Urbane".  At a first look, it does resemble a traditional watch which is a big plus for me as I don't want to wear something that would fit right in Star Trek movie.

I'm glad LG is really catching up to top Android device manufacturers such as Samsung, Motorolla and HTC.  In fact, LG could position itself in #2 spot only after Samsung if they can keep up the pace.  I've always been a LG fan over Samsung for most of what these two companies compete on.

LG Watch Urbane features 1.3-inch full circle P-OLED display with a sleek narrow bezel made of high quality stainless steel.  The finish is available in two options: polished silver and gold, both complemented by a beautifully stitched genuine leather strap.  The strap can be easily replace by any 22mm side band.  It is controlled by touch-based user interface and fully compatible with any Android phone running version 4.3 and above.

The full technical specification is not available yet but this looks very promising and may end up being my next watch.  BTW, I haven't worn a wrist watch for about 15 years.
